If you happen to be around Brick Lane and generally Spitalfields and crave for something else than a general Brick Lane food stall or a run down pub, then you just have to try The Luxe.
Located under the roofs of Spitalfields market, I used to go there a few times last year and never got disappointed.
On a Saturday before Easter break, it was finally the time to come back for good (the other half of this blog still lives there) and as we were craving for a quick and delicious breakfast, The Luxe went immediately up my mind.
The good thing: Breakfast/brunch runs until 4pm on the weekend, which made it not too embarrassing when we arrived there at 12.30 and asked for berry pancakes, a fruit bowl, freshly squeezed orange juices and coffee.
Other than that, you get a broad range of different sandwiches and burgers among various salad creations and everything else which seems authentic, good and simple for a quick but tasty bite.
I somehow like having an easy menu which offers enough different things and which gives nearly everyone something to eat. Not complicated, not too expensive and a general fair price-performance ratio, I personally call The Luxe my high-end pub with a great atmosphere on the weekend (always buzzing!), which just seems enough for a relaxed breakfast, brunch or lunch.
(I’ve never been there during the evening but I guess it’s not too much of a difference!?)
By the way: If you don’t want to queue a little bit (that may happen just like everywhere popular in London), The Luxe offers a great grill on the go with burgers to take away among other things. Especially nice during summer!
