Piling up Pom Poms

IMG_9871

While everyone is getting ready for Spring with the usual flower-pastel-madness (“Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.“), I try to skip the annual trend-incarnation and am literally HEADing/HATing for something else.

…Pom Poms that is! While I’ve never been a fan of anything hanging off my clothes, I slowly but surely fell in love with fringes; now pom poms when it comes to casual looks.

What fringed details do for a rather unexpected, not-t00-classy suede piece in fall (think Indian summer) or easy-breezy festival and beach looks (think: hippie-esque Ibiza chic), I feel like pom poms do for the transitional and high summer seasons.

I’ve got no idea where this boho-style appreciation comes from but I’m absolutely in love of mixing the classic side of my wardrobe with some relaxed statement-accessories to break the ice of white collars and structured shapes and ease up the look.  For me, it’s to keep the balance between these significant details and the rest of your look, so I rather keep the rest of my outfit low-key instead of mixing in loud colours (not that I ever dare to wear too many bright shades… ;)) or adding any other details (additional pompoms, fringes, patterns etc).

Pom Pom Hat: Bought at fabulous Salon Sahnestück store in Cologne; White Shirt: COS; Cashmere Pullover: Allude; Destroyed Denim: Zara; Suede Chelsea Boots: Unützer; Earrings: Dior

Find below a selection of some of my current favourites PomPom-themed pieces.
