When it comes to faux fur or faux leather, the chances of buying something extremely cheap looking are quite high. Frankly, I always found it a challenge to find something decently looking, which is made of a synthetic material; especially when it comes to the fluffy, warming, snuggly, hairy fur part.

And while researching for my dissertation (‘something’ to do with fur ;)), I decided to skim through different high street retailers’ online shops and just see how many faux fur things they actually offer … until I found this grey faux-shearling jacket at River Island and immediately fell into a distraction-mode.

Isn’t it pretty? I mean, just keep in mind: This is from River Island, it costs nothing compared to a real version and, above all, the online shop version doesn’t look that cheap (not cheap at all, actually!?).

That may be because shearling isn’t that challenging as other materials but as I said; chances are high that synthetic versions end up looking cheap and simply not good.

I, very unfortunately, didn’t have the time to visit a store and take a closer look but from what I experienced with River Island previously, their stuff normally comes the way it is presented online.

There are two other colours you can choose from (brown & cream) but I personally prefer the grey one!
