Bodywash & Hair Care Newbies

When it comes to the big beauty/body care box in my life, then you will be mostly choked by thousands of shampoos, body wash and hair brushes.

And Mascaras but this is another story.

What other girls might diagnose as nail polish-addiction, hand cream cravings or make up curiosity (which mostly all ends up in an endless collection of these items), I find in a weird mix of hair care love and brush testing.

While the Mascara part still doesn’t find a calm route, my hair brush experience has come to an end at some point (years ago).

It was all tested and decided: There’s only one brush my life will be fulfilled with – the paddle brush. Not other professional brush blabla could have substituted my beloved paddle.

While this isn’t any news for most of the female readers, I still can’t get over the fact that I’m now starting an affair with something much uglier looking but highly promising: The Tangle Teezer.

Once tested, excited and convinced, I finally remembered this little weird thing again, thus found myself at Selfridges some days later again (after having a super shopping break out over there some days ago and straight after thinking about what still misses my range of (un?)necessary beauty stuff).

But once you’re in a little happy flush, you can’t stop and all of a sudden (magically) there tend to pop up 1000 of other things you didn’t get yourself in ages and just HAVE to have them NOW.

That’s why it was not much surprising when finally getting my products from Aveda again.

After using their Damage Remedy line for a while (and it’s seriously AGES ago (when my hair was something very close to a total damage thanks to silly experiments)), I completely fell in love with their products.

As I’m more that type of “let’s go QUICKLY to the drug store! I need some dumb shampoo and conditioner and I don’t have any further time, thanks” -girl, I used to just “love” it with my heart (instead of my hair) after I ran out of my last tubes and never really got back to it.

This time, I decided to go for their Smooth Infusion products. My hair is not that damaged anymore and rather needs some regular but intensive care.

(Long hair can be pretty beast as you might know).

The water here tends to be super rich in chalk and makes it hard to do such an easy and simple hair care like I’m doing it when being in Germany, Austria or somewhere else on this planet.

I already realised this the past days of being back – my tips are much dryer and still look frizzy (although they weren’t back home and yet I’m in desperate need of a hair dresser the upcoming weeks).

That’s why I’m having my deepest beliefs in Aveda’s Smooth Infusion (Shampoo, Conditioner & two little examples of the Style Prep Smoother).

The last (but won’t be the least I guess) friend accompanying me in the bathroom again is a legendary product by Malin+Goetz.

Discovering this company in New York last year made me become slightly addictive to their Rum Bodywash, which was distributed through the Mondrian in Soho (and as I later discovered through other hotels of the much loved Morgans Hotel Group, too).

Sadly, I had to realise that they have stopped their production of rum BODYwash but rather formed a handwash with these amazing ingredients.

No problem for me – I’m a tough girl and will risk to ignore the “hand” before the wash; I’m simply going to use it as my bodywash. Bam!

With all of these newbies and comebacks, I will celebrate them in a long bath tonight.

Can’t wait to smell Malin+Goetz on my skin and feel an expected softness in my hair! ;)
