Dubai Day 2: Welcome to Dubai Mall!

We started the second day at Dubai Mall, which was quite different from the Emirates Mall.

Still cooled down, still like a playground and still full of any imaginable stores yet much more luxurious and “clean” (at least when looking at the architecture).

As soon as we entered the building my first thought was something like “okay now THIS is something I could waste my time with for the upcoming two, three, four hours”.

And that’s what we’ve been doing from that onwards. With over 1000 different stores, the Dubai Mall seemed so much nicer in its appearance and offers a neverending list of every girl’s dreams.

I never really touched this topic before but again I went for some long piece to wear at the bottom. As much as everyone tries to convince with arguments like super high Western standards and appearances as well as thinking (that’s how Dubai is described in most cases) , I still find it hard to not adapt myself in “my own way” when being at some other places than the hotel/beach.

It’s not only the air conditioning (as many might think) that keeps me away from pulling any shorts or something else at such places.

I just don’t feel completely comfortable and right wearing whatever I want to wear and I think it’s just important to show some kind of respect to the origins of such a city.

How do you say? “If you’re in Rome, do it like the Romans do“. And that’s what I’ve been trying (at least) a little.

That’s why I’ve been going for my long skirt and (hallelujah, I didn’t forget it) my beloved cardigan I wore back in February.

To add some nice details, I pulled the famous sandals from Capri by Canfora, which were already worn by icons like Jackie Kennedy (the pair I’m wearing was intentionally named after her) and Brigitte Bardot.

I love them to bits and they definitely enhance every summer outfit! Take a look at Canfora’s homepage shipping the whole world! :)
