Saturday’s outfit, shot in Berlin yesterday.
As some might have already guessed from the numerous Snapchat posts, I find myself a little more regularly in Berlin lately and you know what? I like it.
It took me years and years to see the good vibes this city can truly embrace.
I was probably never ready to see Berlin in a bigger picture than being there for internships, Fashion Week trips or in favour of celebrating birthdays for friends.
But here I am, exploring the city from absolute scratch and not judging straight from the beginning. In fact, I must say I start seeing the beautiful sides of what we can surely now call Germany’s most international city. Never ever have I seen so many different people from so many different backgrounds getting together in a German city, nice little pop-up shops everywhere, affordable and absolutely amazing restaurants (Berlin is a gem for all foodies) and, after all, a city in progress.
Yes, that’s what it is – progress. Wherever you turn to, you see the city being built and built and built and I can’t recall any other place that seems so much focussed on becoming something, rather than maintaining what it always was or keeping things as they are.
I wouldn’t recommend doing so in any other situation in life but giving a few chances to something like a city might be worth it. Berlin, you got me this time!
PS: “The jacket of a lifetime” has grown with me for real. In fact, I own it since I’m 4 years old. My mum bought it (way too oversized back then but the Mama bear knows what’s good) when she soon realized that putting me in little tweed jackets might not be the best sartorial choice if you happen to have a rather crazy child, ruling over the playground in Vienna’s 18th disctrict with her besties. It still spells my name inside so that I would find it wherever I went and luckily, neither the denim jacket nor the denim trend has ever disappeared since 1995. ;)
