Harbour of Peace

Some shots quickly taken before heading for our dinner on day 1 here in Dubai (evening 2) at the much loved Nobu.

All of them were happening around our hotel area. The title has a little meaning – as Mina A’Salam means Harbour of Peace.

I was thrilled to eat at the Nobu at Atlantis. As this was not only the first restaurant I visited on my very first trip to London when I was 9, I also kept being a loyal customer ever since.

That’s why there shouldn’t be any wonders about the fact that I was looking forward to see the equally named sister restaurant here in Dubai at the well known Atlantis hotel on the palm.

It was not only Nobu that gave me an absolute déja-vu but also the hotel itself.

The Atlantis here in Dubai looks exactly like the original one on the Bahamas we were staying at 8 years ago (and I will never forget my parents’ faces when seeing all the casinos and the …quite different… interior from what they’ve been expecting).

Without visible casinos but with a completely same facade (and as many people), Atlantis Dubai seems neverending in its size.

After having an expected super nice dinner, I couldn’t help myself but to head to the big aquarium looking  at the different fish and rays and even sharks (if only baby sharks!!). :D

Whenever I look at an aquarium (which is quite rare when not turning on the famous Youtube video of “Please don’t go” by Barcelona), I start being kind of paralysed like a little kid. I could stand there for ages just watching all these creatures passing their ways.

And that all although I’m (as I already told once after visiting London’s Underwater World) the biggest water/shark-phobic person.
