Weekly Favourite: Trays by Ibride

Ibride Tray Collection La Pulcinella(Zhao rabbit tray, Pondichéry Cornelius monkey tray, Au Grand Theatre Ambrose humminbird tray)

When it comes to decor and other home utensils, I’m always a little bifid. Although I find it an absolutely nice thing and although I also believe that decor is essential to give your home a certain character (preferably yours to feel more “at home”?!), I’m personally approaching it from the opposite angle most of the time.

(So, does this make me schizophrenic!?)

I’m more that type of person who loves decor but finds it extremely hard to relate to these things when it comes to finding stuff that “fits” me and would make my place even prettier. That’s why I’m often happy with minimalistic (sounds much more fashionable than “basic”, right? ;)) things that “don’t just STAND in the way”. But what about things, which really serve a purpose other than enhancing a room or generally home solely?

That’s exactly what I thought when finding Ibride’s amazing trays, which I would have all bought within seconds if I really needed all (!) them.

I firstly spotted Ibride trays at Sketch as coffee and other things are often served on these trays and I always wondered where they got them from. Assuming that it’s just “someone I will not get hold of anyways”, I never asked and incidentally, when browsing Liberty’s shop the other day, that nicely dressed rabbit on one of the trays caught my attention.

“Surreally aesthetic with a dark sense of humor”
(Liberty puts it in these words in a slightly different context but that’s very well said)

Even the monkey from Sketch was there, and so were Mary’s little lamb, the bitchy pigeon and the nicely dressed Mr. duck. Extremely unconventional, far away from girly-girly-like (may you all stick to your zigzag minty shaded, glittery tray stuff) and with that Victorian-Gothic touch, I just feel like they are the perfect trays for my future life as a grown-up.

Don’t they have something very dramatic as well? I mean, besides from the fact that three creative but crazy people have decided to put animal heads on old “paintings” and get them on trays, I find them extremely nice.
