City Safari

Where’s my head been the past days? Everywhere but on the blog.

The past week was kind of a little hell. Free time in terms of having a week off might seem tempting to many but speaking personally, I couldn’t have been put in a bigger disaster composed of “what to do first” and “when to do it”.

And here I’m not talking about leisure time management.

Deadlines showing up, interviews which haven’t been done yet, half written essays waiting to be finished to essays I haven’t even looked at and the motivation vs. procrastination problem turned up as usual.

It’s no secret that I keep on whining over this on here but all I can tell is that I had to concentrate on some of the listed points a lot, which has not really allowed me to do anything  but switching from 150 different half written, poor Word documents to Facebook and Twitter (and yes, Instagram – I’m guilty) back to the docs.

Whenever these times turn up, I start caring less about my outfits and (as it might be the case for some) rather look like a little hobo: Leggings, oversized jumper, ANY shoes (Uggs are much preferred this year) and hair styles varying from fizzy fuzzy open mess to a bunch of hair being put somewhere up there on my head, which clearly says: I don’t give a damn.

But then I start giving one after a while and that’s why I couldn’t stand this any longer and had to break out a little.

When preparing myself for a lovely Saturday spent at lovely Uni, I felt sick of seeing myself in black to black and just threw this old, shabby leo dress on.

Well.. not so shabby when ignoring all the parties it has seen after bringing it to the dry cleaner for some felt 500 times until I didn’t smell the penetrant alcohol-cigarette cocktail anymore.

(this smell went away some day after another pick-up at the dry cleaner’s).

Nevertheless, I was very close to throw it away but then instinctively decided to leave it in one of the moving boxes (accompanied by the thought “Maybe I’m going to become a party beast again … just in case … some time … in 100 years”).

Luckily for the dress and me, I found a new way to wear it. As I was standing there in my black turtleneck pullover and the question of whether pulling the grey leggings or the black leggings (creativity faded away at some point last week), I just went for none of them, took some tights and threw the leo thing over.

In order to avoid the leo-high-heel combo turning in a wrong direction, I decided to go for that oversized, khaki jacket/shirt and tightened it up with a belt to remain a silhouette.

Of course this shoot had to be done in a quick-quick-quick mode and I regret being so pushy. As you can maybe see: I changed location (moving 500 m away from the other place).

Why in God’s name did I think that I needed to take these pictures at a playground first?! Don’t ask because the only answer would be that I wanted to have another background and not only the same.

Turned out to be a dumb idea as I had to discover. It somehow looks as if I’ve been shooting in an open area of prison.

Oh well .. next time I’m going to think twice before taking pictures in a hurry in the middle of a Uni deadline mode. It seems as if my brain just works temporarily.
