Being at home didn’t only have a positive effect to my wellbeing, no it has been ultimately the best idea ever. Not that I would leave out the opportunity from switching from British pounds to sweet Euros, I couldn’t resist but to take a little look around at Rainbow store. Located in Cologne city’s heart, I found myself (as usual) in a disaster of wanting everything I was encouraged to try on. Happier than I walked in, I left Rainbow behind and would have never thought of how lucky I am. Just before I went to the airport, I received this call saying “…They’re in. We just received them” and so I rushed back and got them. Them – these shoes we just got familiar with. As I said in a previous post, I’m a little lacking of this sneakers trend and as I’m considering myself of just not being the typical cool-gangster-sneakers-wearing type of girl, I just had one pair I’d ever dare to wear (besides from my Prego cuties): those inspired by the Isabel Marant sneakers. Although I was sceptic at first (the shape, the appearance – everything seems very unusual), I knew it the moment they made their way to my feet: They are mine. Being available (not for a long time – that’s for sure) in black/white, yellow-brownish/white/red and silvery/beige (among some other combinations..it’s insane how many different versions there actually exist), I went for an easy but still special combination: Greenish-beige and black. As I saw these sneakers in their black and white version a lot, I left out the opportunity of taking them in their “classic” appearance. A little too harsh in their colour contrast, thus a little too much for me. They look incredible on some other people’s feet. But they’re definitely not fitting to the rest of my closet. Plus, I tend to freak out the moment new shoes get dirty (definitely not applying to my Guess shoes haha) but it would make me go crazy to clean them after each tube ride I’m taking (which would be a daily challenge). That’s why I chose a rather low keyed, yet beautiful and special version. I immediately had to think of my beloved parka, who will soon loose its fur (goodbye my lover, goodbye my friend – we see each other in winter season again). They will make a perfect ensemble. That’s for sure.
Meanwhile, I give my parka a little rest and put on my much loved pullover. The metallic optic has been around for quite a while now and what shall I say? I refused to buy it when I firstly spotted it at Zara until I entered Rainbow and my inner voice went “GO FOR IT AND STOP THINKING”. Thank God I stopped it. And got that beautiful thing.
I somehow remind myself of an astronaut. Or someone who took a lot of aluminium foil and wrapped it around oneself before pulling these spacey shoes. Bu then again I just love it!
