Birthday Weekend – 21, bringt it on!

As long as La Pulcinella exists, I was never really talking about my birthday in particular.

When I turned 18, I saw it as an absolutely important countdown to announce my legal adulthood in Europe through the blog (at that time I had about 100 people visiting my blog per day and I used to write two sentences for a “proper” blog post ;)).

But then I decided to leave it out again (and quite honestly I have to admit that I wasn’t bothered to keep on talking about this over here) until this year!

Not only because my blog has become much more personal and took a new direction but also because I feel the urge to share this nice compilation of pictures that cumulated over the past days! :)

Just like last year, my parents came over and I really enjoyed it (how could it have been different?!). I’m really thankful and all the things I was able to discover, experience, feel, see and receive pay full credit to my parents.

I obviously took full advantage of the attention I received (generally as the single child but especially during the past days…YES, it’s a bad stereotype and I guess what – not really sorry for that ;)) and decided to visit my top 5 favourite restaurants for the dinner times.

Not only my parents but also my dearest friends did an amazing job in spoiling me and didn’t hesitate to go for the max.

The panda cupcakes are a very special creation by the fabulous Nikki.

And the organsiation of the cake as well as the presents was all done by her, Loren (who seemed to suffer during the waiting times of selecting what fits best for me & who finally did the right decisions of one bracelet ;)) as well as the man usually behind the cam. :)

A proper post of my outfit will follow the upcoming days.

I hope your weekend was as good as mine!

First night spent at Hakkasan Mayfair

my head looks massive in comparison to my mum’s … :D

Hazelnut Jivara Bomb – favourite dessert!

Beautiful Bond Street

Lucky weather :)

Afternoon drinks at Donovan Bar/Brown’s Hotel designed by Rocco Forte

Second night spent at the best Indian restaurant in London! Swagat is definitely the most delicious to go for real homemade Indian cuisine. Small but absolutely cute, it’s located in Richmond and never disappointed me. I haven’t been there for a while now but it calls super nice memories.

Spotted while leaving the tube

Never been to this pretty arcade before! :) (Princes Arcade at Piccadilly Street, near Fortnum & Mason) It directly links to the Jermyn Street which is a little spot for classic menswear.

Went to Fortnum & Mason and have to admit: The most British and classic department store you could find in London.

Third night spent at Eight over Eight, Chelsea (if you read this blog frequently then you know: I LOVE IT!)

Some starters – Chili Salt Squid & Prawn and Chives Dumplings!

Fourth night – off to Sumosan restaurant in Mayfair & ready to wait for turning 21 ;)

Beef Tataki

Black Cod Sweet Miso – you have to go for it if you ever go there.

Black and white chocolate fondant – don’t ask what the green is… I don’t have any idea (it doesn’t taste like anything in particular) but it was AMAZING

Pineapple & white chocolate – my favourite!

Got wonderfully surprised by 12 pm! :))

We had to discover: There’s only one “acceptable” picture of us! :D

Actual birth-DAY – enjoying a drink in between

The best birthday cake ever!!! From Patisserie Valerie.

Crazy panda cupcakes! :)

Cutest card from the best man (right after my dad ;)) !! :)

Birthday dinner spent at Asia De Cuba at St. Martins Lane (another amazing hotel of the Morgans Hotel Group!)

The Asia De Cuba

Drinks are served in all different variations of glasses – even some old jam jars ! ;)

My non alcoholic cocktail!

If you ever get to visit one of the Asia De Cubas in this world (one at Mondrian LA, one at Mondrian Miami South Beach, one at Morgans in New York and one here in London at the St Martins Lane – I tested them all ;)), then you have to go for one of their signature dishes: The Calamari banana salad! Sounds absurd, tastes ridiculously amazing.

Asia de Cuba is all about the sharing concept – big portions (ok the cod looks somehow sad) and many different dishes. On the top right you can see the Cuban BBQ Chicken, which is another excellent signature dish. It’s served with coconut sticky rice (best!) and some green guacamole like side.

A cigarette was MUCH needed after the food!!!

The bar at Asia de Cuba

“Bay of pigs” dessert with candle and my name on it – couldn’t wish for more!;)

and the coconut cake with cream and chocolate and vanilla – gave me the final caloriebomb! :D
