Burgundy & Bow

IMG_4379

The story of receiving this pair of leather trousers is as lucky and meanwhile weird as me finally wearing something burgundy.

As I said in a previous post: Burgundy fits everyone. But I never really got to the point of buying myself anything in that colour before (besides from some loafers I should wear some time soon).

So last week, my dear flatmate Nikki received another of her numerous notifications of another little parcel having arrived in front of our door.

Expecting a lot of things to arrive at the moment (next to the normal online shopping spree), we all didn’t have anything particular in our minds when she said she’ll come back in a minute to get her parcel.

It was a neatly packaged little parcel sent from the Elle UK headquarters congratulating my friend for her prize.

What prize!?!

Well, we still don’t know what our dear Nikki has subscribed to (and neither does she) but as she seems to just rarely leave out an opportunity to shop or receive anything as a prize (clever, clever ;)), it appeared not that absurd that she also subscribed to a competition at Elle.

Still wondering about her latest prize and why it was sent to her (she REALLY doesn’t know!), Nikki decided that she will make the exception to my burgundy prediction.

And said that she doesn’t like the colour. “Too colourful… wtf… money would have done the prize too!!!” ;)

Well, only good for me who took advantage out of this and adopted the new trousers to my wardrobe.

Combining it to my blue coloured shirt seemed to come up naturally and so I found myself on the streets a few days later pulling this look.

Preferably, I would have gone for my beige coloured bootees but the trousers are not fitting EXACTLY (I realised it later that day) which lets me pull it up most of the time rather than having it hanging on my waist.

Nevertheless, I took my black loafers (also fitting well to the few rainy showers in between) and kept it rather low with any further accessories.

The bow substitutes any earrings or necklaces (and note that I’m a huge bow critic so this should be called a premiere).

I wasn’t too sure about the bag’s colour at first when taking it for this look but then decided to just use it more often outside its main duty: I normally wear it for uni and sometimes for journeys as it has that extra stable ground to store a lot of things that make lectures & flights pass by quicker ;).

I must admit: I like seeing burgundy even on myself. Thank you to Elle UK for sending this pair of trousers to my friend. They do a satisfying job in my wardrobe now ;)
